About Janelle Wong

Asian American Studies, Government, Political Science

Janelle Wong has produced pathbreaking research on Asian American public opinion, religion and immigrant integration, and immigrant civic engagement that has dispelled longstanding misconceptions about Asian Americans’ support of affirmative action, the acceptance of immigrants by Christian evangelicals, and the perceived political apathy of Latine and Asian immigrants. She coauthored Asian American Political Participation: Emerging Constituents and Their Political Identities, a comprehensive study of Asian American political behavior based on data from the first national, multilingual, multiethnic survey of Asian Americans.
